AUDITIONS

CENTRAL ALBERTA THEATRE will be holding general auditions for its 2024-2025 season on Monday June 17 and Tuesday June 18 at the Red Deer Memorial Centre (4214-58 Street, Red Deer) in the Studio Theatre (formerly Nickle Studio). Auditions will be held between the hours of 6:00pm and 10:00pm each evening. Call backs will then be scheduled on Wednesday June 19.

Each individual will be asked to prepare a 2 minute monologue, and also do a cold read from one of our featured plays of the season. If you do not have a monologue, we can provide one for you from our library which can be either gender neutral or gender specific. We ask that you arrive at least 10 minutes before your audition.

Below is a description of characters from our plays we will be auditioning for. This includes Dracula, Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley, and Pouf!

Please note: Auditions for our final production of the season Opal's Million Dollar Duck will not be considered for this round of auditions, however they will be scheduled for a later date.

Dracula: Mina’s Quest (Directed by Lacey Oleson-Rinehart)

MINA - a woman in her early twenties.
BARKER - Mina's fiance, a solicitor.
LUCY - Mina's friend, twenties.
SEWARD - Lucy's suitor, head of a lunatic asylum.
RENFIELD - a madman, or madwoman. ·
DRACULA - a Count from Transylvania.

Elizabeth Darcy: 22-Confident, charming, and witty
Fitzwilliam Darcy: 30- A loving, generous, and smart (if slightly stiff) husband
Jane Bingley: 24-Pregnant with her first child, sweet, optimistic, kindest heart in the house
Charles Bingley: 25- Gracious, happy, and ever focused on the love of his life Jane
Lydia Wickham: 17-Flirtatius, youthful and self-centrered
Anne De Bourgh: 20s-Lived in her mother's very large shadow, judgmental, and impatient
